Neutralizing our FootprintWe have committed to and been certified by Carbon Neutral. We will work with this great initiative to measure our carbon footprint, fully offset it, and work to reduce future emissions. Our goal is to achieve carbon neutrality in 2022 and be carbon-free by 2023. Carbon Neutral will audit our work and hold us true to our word. As part of the certification process in 2022, we are required to fully offset our 2021 footprint, and actively measure our emissions in 2022.
Our CausesHow Do We Do It?
ClimeworksWe have established a partnership with Climeworks to actively help measure Scope 1 emissions, which currently stand at 1-2 tCO2e. Additionally, we invest monthly in our emissions and add them to our database. Climeworks develops, builds, and directly operates air-capture machines that capture carbon dioxide from the air, eliminating inevitable and historic CO2 emissions.Learn more
CoolEffect
Now, we work with CoolEffect, a global nonprofit organization that passively helps capture Scope 2 and Scope 3 emissions, which typically amount to 150 tCO2e.At LaPieza, we support projects primarily in North America and South America, but we also support international projects in three main categories:
